Who can fix an automatic gearbox?
LVS are confident in looking at your VAG (Volkswagen, Audi, Golf) gearbox and diagnosing your fault
When should a cambelt be renewed?
The cambelt should be replaced on either a period of time or mileage/distance covered basis; depending on your vehicle it is normally every 4-5 years or 60,000 miles as an example.
It is best to call a member of our team on 01522 500745 to discuss.
Is my clutch covered under warranty?
LVS offer a 1 year or 12000 mile warranty on clutches supplied and fitted by ourselves. We cannot offer a longer warranty period like other parts due to the fact the clutch is a wearable item.
How do I keep track of routine Maintenance?
Don’t worry, when your vehicle comes into LVS your service light is reset by one of our technicians, the vehicle then counts down or calculates when the next service is due and will warn you on the dash prior to it requiring its next service.
What parts should be replaced at certain intervals?
Each service interval does involve different parts, while we are undertaking the VHC or an MOT inspection we check for damage, excessive play in moving parts e.g. wheel bearings, track rod ends and general wear and tear of the vehicle. Only parts changed will be those required in the service, you will be contacted for approval if any further issues are found.
Please feel free to contact a member of the LVS team if you are unsure on what service is required.
Do I need to take my vehicle back to the main dealer for servicing whist in manufacturer’s warranty?
This is a question we as a company get asked more and more. A lot of people are under the impression that when a vehicle is under manufacturers warranty that they have to take their vehicle back to the main dealer (i.e Audi, Volkswagen, Seat or Skoda)
The fact is you do not.
Prior to 2003, automobile owners in the EU region risked nullifying their vehicle warranties
when the vehicles were serviced or repaired in workshops not belonging to the vehicle
manufacturer or its dealers. This barrier was broken in October 2003, when the European
Commission (EC) passed the Block Exemption Regulation law allowing vehicle owners
the freedom of having their servicing and repairs done at their chosen workshop.
On 1st June 2010 European Union legislation, ‘Block Exemption Regulations 461/2010
came into force. This BER certainly gives the motorist far more freedom in deciding
who will repair or service their vehicles, as well as the flexibility and benefit to reduce
the amount spent on servicing
LVS ONLY fit genuine O.E filters to keep your vehicles warranty. The only thing LVS cannot do is carry out any warranty work. this unfortunately has to be done by the main dealer.
LVS Parts and Labour Warranty
LVS T&Cs updated 01/01/25
LVS AG Ltd offers a 2-year Parts & Labour Warranty on work carried out at our workshop. However, certain items and circumstances are subject to specific exclusions and reduced warranty periods.
Clutch Replacements
Clutch replacements are covered for 1 year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, due to clutches being a wear-and-tear item.
Tyres
Tyres are a wear-and-tear item and therefore are not covered by any LVS warranty.
Brakes
Brakes are classed as a wear-and-tear item. However, LVS offers a 6-month or 6,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first, on both genuine and aftermarket brake parts.
Road Springs
Due to road springs being moving components and the increasingly poor condition of UK roads, LVS can only offer a 6-month warranty on road springs.
Unfortunately, potholes and poor road surfaces are becoming increasingly common and can be a contributing factor to road spring failure.
Performance Clutches
LVS does not offer any warranty on performance clutches fitted by ourselves, as these are deemed to be a performance upgrade.
Genuine OE Parts
Any genuine OE part supplied and fitted by LVS AG Ltd is covered by a 2-year Parts Warranty.
Please note that genuine OE parts are covered through the relevant main dealer.
If a genuine part supplied and fitted by LVS fails within the 2-year warranty period:
- LVS will first inspect and confirm that the part is deemed to be faulty.
- If the part is confirmed as faulty, the vehicle will be required to attend your local main dealer (Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT or Škoda).
- You will need to take your LVS invoice as proof of purchase.
- The main dealer will then carry out the warranty repair in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty procedure.
Please note: Brakes and suspension components are classed as wear-and-tear items and are therefore subject to the 6-month LVS warranty.
Non-Genuine / Aftermarket Parts
Any non-genuine part supplied and fitted by LVS AG Ltd will be covered by a 2-year warranty and, where applicable, LVS will carry out the warranty repair ourselves.
Modified Vehicles – IMPORTANT
LVS AG Ltd will NOT honour any parts warranty if the vehicle has been modified in any way from the original specification in which it was manufactured.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Remaps or performance software
- Tuning boxes
- Performance exhaust systems
- Performance air intakes
- Performance intercoolers
- Upgraded or modified braking systems
- Other performance hardware or modifications
By having work carried out by LVS AG Ltd, you acknowledge and accept the warranty terms and exclusions outlined above.
